Price Glazing Limited supply & install replacement double glazed units.

If one or more of your double glazed sealed units (the individual glass units found within double glazing installations) is broken or misted up between the panes, we can supply and fit a replacement unit so you won’t have the cost of replacing the whole window.

A double glazing window comprises two panes of glass, separated by a spacer bar and seals to create a hermetically-sealed environment. The cavity width between the two panes, argon filling used and the type of spacer bar, are all key factors in the unit’s final energy, solar and acoustic insulation properties. The cavity is filled under vacuum conditions with Argon inert gas to improve insulation and prevent condensation within the unit. The recommended cavity width for Low E energy saving double glazing window when filled with dehydrated air is 16mm – and 14mm when the cavity is filled with argon gas. The cavity width requirements for acoustic insulation glazing depend very much on the specific insulation requirements and need to be advised on a case by case basis.

Toughened or tempered glass is a type of safety glass processed by controlled thermal or chemical treatments to increase its strength compared with normal annealed glass. Tempering puts the outer surfaces into compression and the inner surfaces into tension. Such stresses cause the glass, when broken, to crumble into small granular chunks instead of splintering into jagged shards as plate glass (aka: annealed glass) creates. The granular chunks are less likely to cause injury.

We offer units in float glass, toughened safety glass, laminated safety glass, leaded units, georgian bar units, fire proof units, acoustic units, tinted units, units with internal blinds.

Units are manufactured to BS EN1279 & are fitted with a 5 year manufacturer guarantee.
